Since her teens Frauke was involved in social justice movements. After obtaining an MA in the Anthropology of Violence at the University of Sussex (UK), Frauke worked in community centred human rights organisations and as a journalist in Central America and Belgium. Her passion for documentary photography led her to become a Berlin schooled photographer where she participated in several exhibitions.
This long and varied background provided her with hands-on experience in storytelling and participatory bottom-up approaches, in coordination and facilitation skills to guide projects from concept to impact, in photography, (visual) editing and original publishing and exhibition formats. Frauke worked with diverse communities and distinct organizational contexts, in sometimes challenging environments. She has a track record in qualitative research, creative campaign strategies, and trainings in holistic security mechanisms for those facing repression. Throughout her professional and community engagements a belief in social justice and change guided her work.
With NO-STATUS-QUO Frauke blends all these previous experiences and skills. Additionally, she participated in intensive trainings and is now a certified Photovoice facilitator. With an initial focus on Photovoice, NO-STATUS-QUO broadens its scope to other creative participatory and visual tools for community engagement and social change.
